Mapping the 18 Top On-Mountain Dining Spots at Ski Areas

View as Map

It's a conundrum faced by every skier at some point. You're famished/freezing, and need to take a break that doesn't involve snarfing an energy bar on the lift. Most resort-operated dining is notoriously overpriced, awful, and devoid of atmosphere, right? Not anymore friends. Curbed Ski has done the work for you, from Kicking Horse and Telluride to Stowe. In our inaugural guide to the best on-mountain and slopeside dining, we've got everything from funky warming huts to high-style cafeterias and fine-dining.

Note that establishments aren't listed in any particular order. PO'ed we forgot your favorite place? Instead of throwing a hissy fit, why not email us your suggestion? We'll be updating this map frequently.

Few on-mountain dining facilities can match the utter coolness of Telluride's Gorrono Ranch, which is why it’s featured in Curbed Ski’s Telluride Dining Guide. The trifecta of design (barn-like), great- if pricey- food, and the cute-as-the-dickens, A-frame Gorrono Bar warming hut (full bar, toddies, and a wood-fired stove for frozen fingers) are reason enough. Add live outdoor music, a fire pit, serious après scene, and views of the craggy San Juans, and you’ll want to want to skip a few runs (trust us). Tip: Try the bbq from the adjacent Smokehouse or chili.Photo, Telluride Ski Resort
