The Cape and Islands 20 priciest home sales of the year range from $5.4M to $18.25M. The top 20 breaks down as follows: Nantucket leads the pack with 12, of course, followed by the Cape with five and the Vineyard with three. Our info was gathered from Zillow, the Warren Group (via capecodrealestate.com), LINK Nantucket, our archives and such. We only included closed deals so there are likely some December sales (thanks to Washington?) not included on the map. Either way, 2012 seemed to work out for a few gazillionaire buyers and sellers.
