Mapping 27 Ski Country Cocktail Spots to Get Your Drink On

View as Map

Gone are the days when ski towns only supplied shot skis and cans of nasty light beer. Now, in bars from Stowe to Whistler, master mixologists are whipping up cocktails made with house-made syrups, specialty bitters, and locally distilled spirits. And while Curbed Ski has mapped the best ski town breweries and the top distilleries in the high country, we now bring you the ultimate guide to craft cocktails. Whether you're looking for an après indulgence or a wee-hour night cap, these 27 hot spots have you covered. Please note, the following map is ordered from east to west.

A short drive from Waterville Valley Resort and an easy two hour trek from Boston, Wild Coyote Grill is not only the best restaurant in the region, it also serves up decent cocktails and a good wine list to match. Don't order anything too fancy, instead stick to classic drink orders and you'll leave satisfied.

There's no shortage of drinking holes in Breckenridge, but Modis is Curbed Ski's go-to spot for handcrafted cocktails. There's something for everyone on the massive list, whether you want a Pimm's Cup or the local's favorite, the Breck Bourbon Smash (Breck bourbon, lime, mint, sugar, & fresh seasonal fruit).

Kelly Liken

Whether it was on Top Chef or Iron Chef America, Colorado local Kelly Liken has proven she can cook in her namesake restaurant in Vail. But Restaurant Kelly Liken also delivers on fresh, seasonally-driven cocktails that take advantage of house-made ingredients and infused liquors. You can't go wrong with the house-made tonic syrup in Chef Liken's Gin and Tonic, and when it's available, we're also suckers for the Colorado Campfire, a drink made with Breckenridge Bourbon, apples, brown sugar, peach eau di vie, and smoked ice.

Justice Snow's

Time and time again, Justice Snow's has proven to be one of our favorite spots in Aspen to drink. The renowned 'cocktail mechanics' will make whatever drink you'd like, but that's only if you can stay away from the enticing menu. The downtown location, historic building, and lively, slightly hipster crowd makes for a fun, booze-filled evening.
