View as Map

It's almost Superbowl Sunday and you- poor thing- are stuck in a ski town. What's a football-loving powder-hound to do? Chill. Whether you're in Vail or Stowe, here are the best places to watch the big game after you catch some turns. Each spot has been hand-picked with these top factors in mind: proximity to the slopes and loads of TVs. Keep in mind that the order follows not from best to worst, but simply from east to west.

The ruling sports bar in Stowe is offering wing and taco deals for Superbowl (first come, first served, till they’re gone). You may not get grub, but there are plenty of TV’s and beer on tap.

With a location at the base of Peak 8 and rotating drink specials, what’s not to love? This is Breck’s prime après ski spot, even when the Broncos aren’t playing.

Red Lion

This Vail Village institution is just off the slopes, and features a loooong, winding bar in which to scope out the action (whichever type you may be seeking). Says a savvy bartender, arrive by 1:30pm on game day, or risk standing room-only.

The Square Grouper

Located just a few minutes’ walk from the Gondola and featured in our X Games Where to Drink Guide, this ginormous basement sports bar/Cajun eatery will ensure your alcoholic and caloric needs are met while you scream at the flat screens.

Avalanche Bar & Grill

Crested Butte’s Big Game Weekend means $48 lift tickets for anyone wearing orange (sorry, visitors, but you’re in Broncos Country now). The Avalanche is Crested Butte favorite and rowdy as hell. Arrive early, and bring your ear plugs.

Brown Dog Pizza

Hands-down the most popular place in town to watch the game (any game), but at least this Sunday, you won’t have to content with T-ride’s rabid soccer fans.

Collie's Sports Bar & Grill

Park City’s newest watering hole has plenty of TV’s, tasty wings, plenty of beer, and nearby lift access. Having a party at home or your condo? Check out the killer Superbowl to-go menu from Deer Valley-Grocery Café (think Dungeness crab legs, housemade torilla chips and salsa, and cilantro and lime-glazed BBQ pork ribs). Details here.

Now in its new home in the Inn at Jackson Hole, the VC may be a little more flash, but it’s still the hottest spot in town for Superbowl Sunday. During halftime, shoot some stick.

Le Chamois & Loft Bar

“The Chammy” is a 45-year-old A-frame drinking institution. Just don’t call it Le Chamois. Expect good times and a great crowd.

Garibaldi Lift Co. Bar & Grill

“GLC” is know as “the place to après,” and no wonder, given its location above the Gondola Building. Prepare for the game by unbuckling your boots.
