Westbank Grill

Located inside the Four Seasons Jackson Hole, one of our 38 Essential Ski Town Hotels, the Westbank Grill is our go-to spot for a steak in Jackson. From start to finish the Westbank impresses; the steaks are cooked to perfection, the sauces scrumptious, and the sides delicious and filling. There's also a well-curated wine list, impeccable service, and a sleek design that makes up for the top-dollar prices. If you can afford it, the Westbank is not to be missed.

Il Villaggio Osteria

One of the best dining options in Teton Village, Il Villaggio Osteria delivers your standard Italian fare of pasta, pizza, and salumi. The restaurant is located in one of our 38 Essential Ski Hotels, the Hotel Terra, but don't expect bland hotel food. From the antipasti to the dessert, Il Villaggio Osteria will satisfy your craving for something a bit different than ski town game.

Village Cafe

Also listed in our round-up of the best dive bars in ski country, this formerly "ratty" dive and snack bar in the Village Center building was much-mourned by locals after it was torn down to make way for a luxury condo (natch). Worry not, because the Village Café is back, now based out of the Inn at Jackson Hole. You may no longer be able to buy PBR tall boys from a walk-up window, but if you're looking to shoot some stick, quench your thirst with a shot ski, eat some pizza, attend open-mic nights, hook up, or just get hammered, this is the place.

Spur Restaurant & Bar

Located in the Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa, Spur is a good choice for a sit-down lunch at the base. Try the sandwiches and salads or stop by during après for a massive plate of nachos and a good selection of beer on tap.

The Kitchen

Another gem in the Fine Dining Restaurant Group empire, the Kitchen is a nice change of pace from the meat-heavy and American-centric menus that dominate ski towns. Asian-inspired cuisine shines through in dishes like Hoisin Spare Ribs, and well-priced seafood options.

Lotus Cafe

Snow lovers looking for gluten-free, vegetarian, raw, or vegan options all flock to this downtown Jackson restaurant where world flavors meet an endless array of dietary options. We like it best for breakfast, when bowls, sandwiches, and smoothies provide a healthier pre-ski fuel-up than the standard breakfast burrito gut bomb. Lotus Cafe is also open for lunch and dinner with a full bar.

Moo's Gourmet Ice Cream

If you're walking around downtown Jackson, it's hard to miss Moo's Gourmet Ice Cream and their wide array of natural and organic ice creams and sorbets. Ignore the chaotic crowds and focus on the creamy frozen treat that awaits; we're especially big fans of the huckleberry.

Cafe Genevieve

You can expect a line at this historic Main Street establishment, and it's not just because it was recently featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Cafe Genevieve specializes in home-cooked meals with a Southern twist, think Fried Chicken and Waffles and Steak Frites. Don't miss the good deals during Happy Hour.

Persephone Bakery

This downtown Jackson bakery pulls them in with killer breads made from wild yeasts, baked in a stone hearth. Other rustic-yet-refined favorites from French-trained local/owner/baker Kevin Cohane include caramel-apple pie, cinnamon brioche, croissants, and the Bee Sting, a honey-brown butter cake layered with caramel buttercream and slathered with honey-almond frosting. Also open for lunch.

Snake River Grill

No trip to Jackson Hole is complete without a visit to the region's most iconic restaurant, the Snake River Grill. This is ski-town fine dining at its best, with James Beard-nominated chef Jeff Drew at the helm. Expect a lot of steak, seafood, and an extensive wine list. It all comes at a price, of course, and the cost for Hudson Valley Duck Cassoulet or American Kobe Zabuton Steak are about what you'd expect for a splurge restaurant in downtown Jackson.

Pearl Street Market

Don't come to Pearl Street Market if you're looking to save a buck, but if gourmet meats, cheeses, pantry items, and prepared foods are your goal, this is the spot. A good alternative if you want to pack a ski lunch or pick up a few things for dinner at your condo.

Trio An American Bistro

Just off Jackson's antler-decorated town square, Trio serves up well-executed fare in a cozy, intimate atmosphere. Creative dishes like Hamachi Ceviche and a Shrimp and Bacon pizza add pizazz to an otherwise familiar New American menu. Don't miss the Waffle Fries with bleu cheese fondue.

Pearl Street Bagels

Boasting delicious, fresh bagels (just don't ask them to toast the bagel, it's not necessary) with tasty schmear and good coffee, Pearl Street Bagels is our go-to spot before a big powder day. You'll find yourself coming back to this downtown Jackson spot again and again, it's just that good.

Bin 22

The front of Bin 22 is a wine shop and liquor store with a good selection of beer, well-priced wines, and mixers. But venture a bit further and you'll find a full restaurant with small plates, communal tables, and tasty food. Order wine by the glass or head over to the wine shop to pick out a bottle and drink it over dinner with no corkage fee, anything you don't drink you can take home. There's also a pleasant patio in the back and a good cheese plate.

Snake River Brewery & Restaurant

Every ski town needs a good brewery, and Snake River Brewery slings good burgers, chili, and of course delicious beer at this popular hang-out in downtown Jackson. Hydrating and carbo-loading will be necessary after hitting up the expert terrain at Jackson Hole, or we recommend grabbing a beer after skiing nearby Snow King Resort for a true locals experience.

Rendezvous Bistro

The first of Gavin Fine and Roger Freedman's (Fine Dining Restaurant Group) restaurants, Rendezvous Bistro is known for its raw bar, wide selection of seafood, and killer outdoor patio. Oyster lovers will be in heaven here and the in-town location is convenient.

Cafe Boheme

Tucked away in a quiet part of downtown Jackson, Cafe Boheme serves up delicious breakfast and lunches with a Mediterranean twist. The friendly French-born owner, Cathy, is a world-class rock climber and can help guide you through the extensive list of sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps, and paninis.

The Bird

Known for having the "Best Burger in Wyoming," the Bird might be a bit south of downtown Jackson, but skiers flock to this mecca of all things between the bun. You'll find 21 different burgers on the menu (including gluten-free and vegetarian options), and the view is pretty damn good, too.
