I'm a lifelong Chicagoan who has had the luck to live in both Germany and Austria. My BA is in History and German from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and I have my Masters of Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I got my start in journalism as a contributor at the Daily Cardinal, a student newspaper at UW-Madison. I am self-taught and continue to write freelance and maintain a blog about urban planning topics. I also enjoy languages, travel, bartending, and drinking copious quantities of coffee.
